Mingling with guests at Book Signing Event – Rochester, NY-

We don’t accomplish anything in this world alone…..

and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one’s life

and all the weaving of individual threads from one to another that creates something.

– Sandra Day O’Connor

Last Thursday evening was the first book signing event for Fragrance in the Desert. It all came together with the help of new friends, family and what I like to call life long friends….(instead of old friends) !  Laurie offered her office space, a friend of hers donated refreshments, my sister took photographs and books were bought to further bring awareness to others. The support of friendly faces, some of whom I haven’t seen in twenty some years, was so very encouraging.  After sharing the story of “my girls”, I read the above quote by Sandra Day O’Connor.

I had recently come upon it when pondering the threads in my own life over the years ,and seemingly I was only seeing the back side…..which if you know something about weaving, sewing, etc…looks a little chaotic, messy…basically not so pretty.

I feel I see the front side of the tapestry of my life more and more and how it includes the weaving of others individual threads.   I was made aware that shared memories never go away.  They are part of our own personal history…threads!  And those threads collectively can create a powerful force to accomplish many things in the world.

I appreciate the threads in my life! Woven together, we can accomplish much in this world.
